Today, exactly 15 years ago, on the 9th of March 2008 I had arranged a concert evening with Nils Frahm and Library Tapes at NBI in Berlin. To help promote the show I made a 3inch CD-R with tracks from both artists in an edition of 77 (which is the year I was born). I wrote sonicpieces 001 on it without the intention to start a record label. However this event triggered a series of coincidences, and I was curious where this path would lead to. It only took a little over a year until I released “Wintermusik” by Nils Frahm – the first CD with the distinct Sonic Pieces book packaging that accompanied the label since then.
